Integrated Child Protection Scheme was launched by ministry of women and child development to create safe and secure environment for the comprehensive development of children who are in need of care and protection such as children of migrant workers, children of prisoners, children of prostitutes, sexually exploited children, children with drug abuse history etc.
Objectives:
1. Improve child protection services
2. Increase awareness of child rights
3. Put forward responsibilities and accountability for child protection
4. Infrastructure development for child support services
5. Setting up evidence based monitoring system
Services under ICPS
1. Emergency child line services
2. Open shelters for children in need
3. Family based non institutional care like foster care and adoption services
4. Institutional services like shelter homes
5. Monetary aid in interventional programmes
