Dependent population is assumed to include children up to 14 years and elderly more than 65 years. They are assumed to be dependent on people in the age group 15 - 64 years.
Total Dependency Ratio = (Children in 0-14 Age Group + Population > 65 Years)*100 / Population of Age Group 15 - 64 Years
