Eligible Couple
An Eligible Couple refers to a currently married couple wherein the age of the wife is in the reproductive age group (15-45).
Couple Protection Rate
The percentage of eligible couples effectively protected against child birth by one or the other approved methods of family planning.
It is an indicator of prevalence of family planning practice in the society.
Couple protection rate should ideally be 60% to achieve the desired NRR of 1
